About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Can i fly Manila-Shanghai-Hk and return Hk-Shanghai-Manila

Does that counts as a transit visa? Is there a time restriction i need to stay out of mainland China before reentering after Hk? i plan only a day trip to Hk but each time i stay 5 days on Shanghai.

Yes, you will qualify for the 144 hour free transit in Shanghai each time if you travel like that.
