12 hours layout in Harbin Airport

Hi there, we are flying from Calgary, Canada to Guangzhou, China. We are going to wait connection flight to Harbin for 2 hours, then 12 hours layout in Harbin. After that, from Harbin to Yakutsk, Russia. Whole family is Russian Passport Holders and Canadian Permanent Residents Card Holders. Do we need to apply for visa in Canada or what else do we got to do?
