China Visa from Bangkok, but entering from Hanoi

Hi my wife and I are in Bangkok and want to obtain the visa for china (we are from Germany). However we will enter china from Hanoi as our flight will take of there.
Is this possible? And how long does the vida process take? Rumors say it might be several weeks.
Thanks

Pascal, yes, it is possible. You can enter from Hanoi.
Usually, it takes 4 working days for the process, but time may vary on a case-by-case basis.
