About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

I am traveling from Tokyo to Shanghai as part of a trip to India, E.G Dehli to Tokyo then shanghai,

Hi,
I will be in Shanghai for 7 hours and then fly to Osaka Japan I was hoping to leave the airport. I am a British passport holder. Can I use the transit visa?

Clive, you mean you will travel like Dehli-Tokyo-Shanghai (7 hours)-Osaka? If yes, you cannot use the free transit because it’s nto a transit at all.
