About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Flights and eligibility

I am flying from Japan into PEK. I will be there for 2 days. My flight out will be from PEK to Nepal, but it has a stop in PVG, and I eligible for the 72 hours visa? Or does the flight out have to be direct with no layover?

You are not eligible for the 72 hour free transit in Beijing because you stop in PVG. If you fly from PEK to Nepal directly, you can use it then.
