About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Bangkok Shanghai Return

We are New Zealanders and we are flying from Bangkok to Shanghai return. Does the 72 hour free transit apply for us, or do we need to apply for a visa before we travel next week?

That's not transit, so you need to apply for it in advance.

Try the local Chinese consulate, however a week may not be enough.
