About:China Tourist Visa

We have a long layover in Beijing on our way to Bangkok.

Do we need a visa just to leave the airport for a few hours? It wouldn't even be overnight.

Renee, if you travel like USA-Beijing (72 hours)-Bangkok, you will be able to enjoy the 72 hour free transit in Beijing. No visa will be needed then if you want to leave the airport.
