About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Cruising and visiting twice, in Xiamen for 11hrs then Shanghai for 2day 7hours.

How do I apply for a visa exemption since the 2 day stay in Shanghai appears to be exempt as its under 72 hours.? Also do I need single or double entry for two cities, one being exempt.
Regards
Roy Brisbane

Roy, it's not entirely clear what your route is, but if you are visiting Xiamen and then Shanghai you will need a Chinese visa in advance. There is no "visa exemption", only "transit without visa" and it doesn't appear that you are eligible for that. So I think you'd better check your route and the rules carefully and leave plenty of time to apply for a visa.
