About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Hanoi-Hong Kong-PVG-USA

Hi.
I'm flying from Hanoi to PVG with a short layover in Hong Kong. Will be flying out from PVG 3 days later to USA. Am I eligible for the 144 hour visa free transit?

If you don't have layover in Hong Kong on your way back to the US, you are eligible for the 144h free transit policy.

Thanks. I thought Hong Kong is considered a third region for the 144 hr visa free transit in Shanghai. What's your opinion on this?
