About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

I am flying Hong Kong to Beijing and then Beijing to the UK with a 3 day stop over in Beijing,

will I need to apply for a tourist L type or will the 72 hour free transit apply ? Also can the transit visa be obtained at the airport upon arrival?

Thank you in advance.

Sarah, you will be eligible for the 72 hour free transit in Beijing if you travel like that. When you board the plane in HK, you should inform the airlines that you want to use the free transit in Beijing, after arrival, you can go to the transit counter to apply for the 72 hour free transit.
