About:China Transit Visa

My layover at Guangzhou airport is 13hrs. Since i am entering Guangzhou and leaving it

via 2 different Airlines, i have to pass through immigration, get my luggage , pass through customs and check in my luggage at the counter of the next airline. Do i need a transit visa?

Amadeo, after stopping for 13 hours in Guangzhou, if you will fly to a third country or region instead of the last one you come from, you can enjoy the 24 hour direct transit there. No transit G type will be needed then.

Thank you Eric. What if my stay exceeds 24hrs (i.e. 30hrs) but i do not plan to leave the airport and go straight to departures, do i need a transit visa?

You don’t need it because you can enjoy the 24 hour direct transit then.
