About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

TOKYO - SHANGHAI - AMSTERDAM

Hi, I am currently in China on a X2 visa with one entry. Though at the end of my stay I would like to visit Japan, but my official departure flight back home (to Amsterdam) will depart from Shanghai. Is it possible to visit Japan, and come back to china on the 72-hour free transit for 1-2 days before my official departure flight to Amsterdam?
Thankyou!

If you fly non-stop Japan-SHA-AMS then you can have 144 hours free transit in Shanghai.
But if you have another stop in China before you go to Shanghai then you will be limited to 24 hours free transit in China.
