About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

I need to fly in to Beijing for less that 72 hours and then return to Belgium.

Is there any way of getting the 72 hour visa to fly in and out of Beijing?
I cannot book a (reasonably priced) direct flight to Beijing form BXL anyway, it will probably be a ticket which is;
BXL -->Helsinki--> Beijing--> Helsinki-->BXL
or,
BXL -->Dubai-->Beijing-->Dubai-->BXL
Would these flights be ok?

Or should I book something like this?
BXL-->Helsinki-->Beijing-->Dubai-->BLX

Andrew, both BXL -->Helsinki--> Beijing--> Helsinki-->BXL and BXL -->Dubai-->Beijing-->Dubai-->BXL are not eligible for the 72 hour free transit; but BXL-->Helsinki-->Beijing-->Dubai-->BLX can allow you to enjoy the 72 hour free transit in Beijing.

There are lots of other possible valid routes, such as outward on KLM and back on Air France (eg BRU-AMS-PEK-CDG-BRU), or outward on Lufthansa and back on Swiss (eg BRU-MUC-PEK-ZRH-BRU) or vice versa. I'm assuming you mean Brussels and not Blue Lagoon Seaplane Base Fiji which has the IATA code BXL! :)
