About:China Visa Exemption

I have a layover in Shanghai for 14hrs, I am an Indian citizen. Can I go outside without a visa?

There is a policy for all countries for 24hrs THOV. But can I go outside of Shanghai(PVG) and come back at appropriate time. If no which type I need?

Rahil, if you fly to Shanghai from country A, and after transiting in Shanghai for 14 hours, you will fly to country B, you will be eligible for the 24 hour direct transit in Shanghai. You just need to apply for a free temporary stay permit at the airport, and then you can go outside to the city for a tour.
