About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Hong Kong- Beijing- Tokyo

We are travelling from UK to Hong Kong (5 nights), then to Bejing for 3 nights (flight arrives 13:55 3 August and departs 12:50 6 August) then on to Tokyo. Would we need a visa as we are only in Beijing for 71 hours? I have a USA passport and my husband in Irish.
