what were the benefits that the Chinese received from the opening of silk road?

The silk, iron products and china have been sold to other regions and products of other regions were brought into China, including grape, nut, and carrot. It's international trade in early period and brought benefits for not only China but also many countries along the route.

I am currently in high school doing a presentation on silk weaving and I believe it was an esier means of transportation :)
