About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

If I have a ticket Madrid-Beijing-Rome, can I benefit from the visa free transit?

I need to attend a conference in Tianjin but have no time to get a visa. If I make a ticket Madrid-Beijing-Rome, will that count as "transit"?

Yes, you can transit visa free with that ticket if you hve no addtional landings in mainland China.
