Do I need an exit flight when entering China?

Hi there, I have a 30 day tourist visa for China and I'm entering China via Hong Kong. I intend to leave the country via train or bus to Vietnam within 2-3 weeks, but I don't want to book that yet as I want to see how my travels go.
Will I be let into China without a flight/other ticket out of the country?
