About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Do we need visa or 72 hour free transit ok?

Visiting Beijing from from Hong Kong. Australian passport holders. We wanted to stay in Bejing for 2 days then travel to Japan. Whilst in Beijing we wanted to have a day tour to The Great Wall.
