I have a valid Chinese visa in my old passport. Can I travel with both passports to China without a

I just received a Chinese student (x2) type but I lost my passport and then found it resulting into cancelling my passport as I have reported it to the police. Can I travel with both my old and new passport as the student X2 type is still valid?

In principle, you can travel with both your old and new passports, but just to play safe, you’d better confirm that with the embassy of China.
