As we are Australian citizens, still do we need to apply for visa to enter to china? Tourist pass?

Qingdao is the place we come, how we arrange public transport to visit few places? Are there any special tourist passes to buy as cheaper in any where for tourists?

Normally, the Chinese visa is required when foreign travelers enter to China. However, there is 72-hour visa free transit policy in Qingdao which means travelers can stay there for 72 hours without a visa on direct transit. It is economical to travel around the city by public transport. Passengers having transportation card (Qindaotong in Chinese) can enjoy a 20% discount on bus fare, but you are not suggested to buy it if you only stay few days as the card deposit is non-refundable.
