About:China Visa Exemption

Need visa if visiting on a cruise ship

I am going to Shanghai and Hong Kong on a P+O cruise. We stay in Shanghai from early morning to evening of same day. We stay in Hong Kong from early morning on15th March and leave depart in the afternoon on the 16th. I will be sleeping on board the ship. I am going on tours organised by the company. I am a UK resident with a UK passport

Linda, if you enter Shanghai from country and then leaven Shanghai for Hong Kong or a third country, you can enjoy the 144hrs free transit in Shanghai. You are also eligible for the free entry in Hong Kong, so you don't need the entry permit for HK either.
