Question

I want to climb the whole mountain, and also go on the foot wide plank things. I want to climb to the very top and then also climb down before it gets dark; I don't want to do any climbing in the dark if possible but at the same time, I do not want to use the cable car, for me it feels like cheating. Is it possible to do all, or at least most of the climb up and down in the day time, and if so, where and what time should I start the climb?Thanks!

It is impossible to climb the whole mountain including the plank walk without taking cable car in one day. It needs at least two days to do it. You can start the climb from Yuquanyuan, it takes about 7-8 hours to climb the mountain and the another 4-5 hours are needed to visit all the peaks. If you want to do it in one day, you are suggested to take cable car to the North Peak, visit the main peaks and then take cable car down from the West Peak. The opposite route is also feasible.

I don't mean climb all the peaks, I just want to climb the highest peak, and also walk the wooden plank, then head back.Is that possible?

South Peak is the highest peak. It normally takes around 6-7 hours to climb from Yuquanyuan to the Southe Peak. As for the plank walk, it may take more than one hour including the waiting time. After that, you can take cable car down from the West Peak.
