About:Chinese Embassy in Japan

US citizen long term resident of Japan

I am sailing to Shanghai then going to hong kong. Im taking a boat from Hong Kong to the Us but the boat docks at a port on mainland china for a few hours, I believe Yantian.

I recently heard that if you are an american and live in Japan you cant apply for a visa on your own, is this true???

Ree, I haven’t heard of that. I think you can still apply for it on your own. Just give it a try, or contact with the CVASC in Japan to confirm that. Tel: 81-(0)3-6430-2066
