About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

24hr or 72 hr free transit eligibility

Arrive Shanghai from London, stay 1 night and then board cruise ship following day, fly back to UK from Hong Kong after cruise, I have read that I need an L or G type because I am not flying from Shanghai back to the UK which makes the standard free transit ineligible or am I wrong? if not how do I apply for this, can anybody help please ?

Frank, if the cruise ship will sail to a third country or region rather than UK after staying one night in Shanghai, you can enjoy the 24 hour direct transit there, and then no entry permit will be needed.
