About:China Visa Entries / Validity / Duration of Stay

I am currently working in China and have a valid Residence Permit.

On the permit it states VALID UNTIL 10 JAN 2017
My question : is the permit valid on 10 JAN, or, is 9 JAN the last day of validity ?
Does anybody know the official interpretation ( rather than a personal interpretation ) ?

John, 10 JAN is the last day of validity. You should leave before 23:59 on 10 Jan.
