Can i come back to China after overstaying

i have overstayed in china for 2 years and reported to the PSB in my city, and paid a fine of 10000rmb. Now waiting for my Exit visa. they said i won't be able to come back for 5 years, the immigration officer was willing to do something about the punishment to 1 year for my wife to be(china) and i. But after some days of signing forms and paying the fine, he said when he inserts all my info in the system the computer automatically give him 5 year punishment. so this is my question.
If i go back to my country and change my nationality and use my new nationality to apply for a new visa will i be allowed to come to china.

Andrew, I'm afraid it will be very difficult for you to come back after overstaying in PRC for such a long time. Even if you change your nationality, the embassy officer may find it.
