About:Chinese Embassy in Colombia

I am a Colombian citizen, and am travellig to Australia via Beijing next December.

I would like to stop in Beijing on my way to Sydney for two days to visit a friend. I thought I could enter Beijing with the 72-Hour Free Transit facility, but I learned that Colombia is not an eligibly country for this. Do I have to apply for a visa?, if so, which type to apply?

As your country is not among the eligible countries, you do not qualify for the 72h free transit, so you need to apply for an entry permit in advance. You can either apply for an L or a G type.
