Colombian citizen at 12 hours Peking visit

Im from Colombia and Im going to travel from Los Angeles to Bangkok with a 13 hours PEK airport scale. We want visit Pekin for a few hours and going back to the airport. Im elegible for direct transit or as a Colombian I need the L type visa? Thanks!!!
