About:China Visa Renewal and Extension

I have a working Z type and a residence permit.

I wish to stay in China for about two weeks on a tourists L type after these expire to travel a bit. What I gather from above is that I should apply roughly one week before they expire so that there is no gap between visas. My only concern is the bank statement (I'm worried I wont have 21,000RMB) but wondered if I was only staying two weeks would it be acceptable to have less?

Genevieve, yes, you should apply for a tourist L type one week prior to the expiry date of your Z type.
Based on what I know, there is no such a requirement for you to have at least CNY 21,000 in bank statement. As long as you can prove that you have enough fees to cover your expenses in PRC, I think you can probably get the tourist L type.
