usa to canada to shanghai, does this qualify for 144 hrs visa free?

We are flying from Portland Oregon, layover in Vancouver,Canada. Then to Shanghai for 5-6 days. Then fly from Shanghai to Vancouver, and back to Portland. Does this qualify for 144 hrs free travel? Thanks!

If so, you don’t qualify for the 144 hour free transit in Shanghai. After visiting Shanghai for less than 6 days, if you fly to US directly, you will be able to enjoy free transit.
