About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Layover in Canada, does 144 hour visa apply?

We would like to fly from Portland, Oregon to Shanghai, with a layover in Vancouver Canada, both ways. Would we be eligible for the 144 hour free time?

So your travel route will be like USA-Canada-Shanghai-Canada-USA? If yes, you are not eligible for the 144 hour free transit in Shanghai.
