Transiting through airport in China

Hello!
I am a Bangladeshi citizen planning to fly to the USA on a Chinese airline and will have a short layover in Guangzhou. Do I need a visa if I am not planning to leave the airport? If so, how much will it cost and how long does it usually take to get it?

Thank you for your support!

Chobi, if you stop in Guangzhou for less than 24 hours, no visa will be required because you can enjoy the 24 hour direct transit there. You can just apply for a temporary stay permit at the airport immigration counter and then you can leave the airport; the stay permit is free of charge and it can be done within several minutes.
