About:FAQ of Chinese Visa Application

I am flying from London to Shanghai then onto Beijing with final destination Singapore.

I need to transit within 24hrs in two airports in the PRC. Does anyone know if the 24h free VISA for British national is applicable?

Diego, yes, the 24 hour direct transit is also applicable to UK passport holders. As long as your total layover time in Shanghai and Beijing is not more than 24 hours, you can enjoy the 24 hour direct transit.
