About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

144 hour free-visa policy

Hi,

I am a US citizen working in Vietnam. I am flying to Hongkong for my vacation. From HK, I would love to fly to Shanghai and stay there for 2 days and 1 night and fly back to Vietnam.

As Hongkong is a 3rd region, am I eligible to the 144 hour free-visa policy in Shanghai?

You are eligible for the 144h twov if your next stop after Shanghai is not HK.
