About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

144h visa Shanghai

Hello,
If I'm a U.S. passport holder, and I'm flying from Singapore to Shanghai for two days then returning to Singapore, would I be considered eligible for the 144h free transit? Or does my next destination have to be a different country than my original departure?
Thank you!!

Your next destination has to be a different country than your original departure. So if you fly from Singapore to Shanghai and the fly back, you are not eligible for the 144h free transit.
