About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

does the rule work for hongkong->shanghai->macau?

i'll be in hongkong and wanna go to shanghai with the 144 hr policy. can i buy a hongkong->shanghai->macau ticket and enjoy the policy? i know it's kinda "cheating" but if the rules allow so, it should be possible right? do you know about that?

If you travel like that, you qualify for the 144 hour free transit in Shanghai.
