About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Seoul-Beijing -Helsinki on non-connecting flights: need 72-hours free transit to move the luggage?

Hello, I have a round ticket Helsinki-Beijing/Beijing-Helsinki and a second ticket Beijing-Seoul/Seoul-Beijing.
My plan is to stay in china for a week (and yes here I need a regular visa), then go to South Korea and come back from Seoul to Beijing and leave for Helsinki within 24 hours.

Since the last two flight are separated/diconnected, there is no way to get my baggage directly from Seoul to Helsinki but in Beijing I have to exit the airport's transit area, get to the baggage track and the re-enter.
Does the 72 hour free transit applies here?
Thanks so much

Markku, if so, you can enjoy the 24 hour direct transit when you re-enter Beijing from Seoul; if you need to collect the luggage by yourself, you just need to apply for a temporary stay permit at the immigration office and then you can collect the luggage and check in again.
