About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

London-Shanghai-Beijing-Seoul-London

I am flying into Shanghai from London and out of Beijing to Seoul and staying in China for 10 days. I went to the Chinese Visa Service Department in London to confirm that this would qualify for the 240 hour visa and they were very non committal - but I’m not sure why. They had no information on the scheme either. I was alarmed at how vague they were so can you confirm there is no issue with the Chinese Border Control! Many thanks.

Your travel route is absolutely eligible for the 240 hours visa-free transit. You just need to provide the immigration in Shanghai with your flight ticket to leave for Seoul within 10 days and better with the hotel reservation and itinerary in China.
