About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Tokyo > Shanghai layover > Beijing > another country

Hello, we are planning to travel to Beijing from Tokyo. We have a layover in Shanghai for 2 hours before flying to Beijing. We will be staying in Beijing for less than 72 hours. We then depart from Beijing to a different country. With the layover in Shanghai do we qualify for 72 hour visa free?

No you don´t qualify as you have 2 stops in China and this is not allowed under the 72h rules.
