About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

London to Hong Kong to Beijing to Tokyo to London

Hi, am guessing i do qualify for the 72 hour visa free transit as will be flying into Beijing from Hong Kong and then going onto Tokyo within 72 hours. Do I have to inform the Airline, or can I just wait till I get to Beijing Airport to apply?
