And i was wondering what is the most affordable way to travel around. Can we get the transportation card at the International airport, and if so, will it be valid for a majority of buses, metro, and train lines? What would be the total cost of the card? And what about the deposit ?Will we receive the money of the deposit on return? Thank you

Yes, you can buy the card at the metro station of PVG. The card is applicable on maglev, metro lines, buses, taxis, etc. You need to pay CNY 20 as the deposit and add some value to it. Yes, you can get back the deposit at many spots, like metro stations, SPD Banks, Alldays Convenience Stores, etc. :)
