About:Chinese Embassy in Sri Lanka

Does a Srilankan Passport holder need a Visa to China

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am a Sri Lankan and living in Singapore. I required to visit my supplier in China. Do I need to apply for an entry permit? Please help me to advice.

Yes, you need it. You can apply for an M type at the CVASC in Singapore. Your passport, passport photocopy, residence permit in Singapore, application form, passport-style photo, and an invitation letter from your supplier are needed. Perhaps you also need to submit an invitation letter from a duly authorized unit.

When check the website "visa for China" and according the below statement, and the countries included on the link do not need an entry permit. Sri Lanka is also part of it. Please advice:

1. According to bilateral agreements, citizens of some countries (List of Agreements on Mutual Visa Exemption between the P.R. China and Foreign Countries) holding appropriate passports may enter China without an entry permit

If only you have an official passport or a diplomatic passport, this applies to you.
