Verifying a university diploma for foreign teachers

For those of us currently residing in PRC, the government now requires that university diplomas be submitted to an embassy for verification; but no one seems to be able to explain the process; which department at the embassy, how to submit the diploma, etc.
Can anyone provide information on this process?

The diplomas should be submitted at the embassy of PRC in your country to do the attestation.
You should first get the diploma notarized by the local notary public, and the get it authenticated by the ministry of foreign affairs. After, get it attested by the embassy of PRC.
