About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Fly into HK, fly to Guangzhou, fly back to HK for return to USA

Does this qualify for the 72 hour visa free transit through Guangzhou?

Because you will fly back to HK after stopping in Guangzhou, you cannot use the 72 hour free transit there. An entry permit is needed and you should apply for it in advance.
