About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

ZRH-HK-SHANGAI-HK-ZRH

Do I need to apply for a VISA or can I just enjoy a 72-hour FREE TRANSIT?

You have to apply for a chinese entry permit.
If you wanna use the 144h twov in Shanghai you can´t fly back to the country where you came from ( in this case Hong Kong).
