About:240-hour Visa-free Transit in Shanghai, Zhejiang, and Jiangsu

with a ZRH-PVG ticket, followed by a PVG-SIN ticket

is it possible to use the 144 hours visa free on both ways (to and from Singapore), hence 2 visits to Shanghai (within 10 days) ?

Yes, it is. There is no legal limit on number of visa free transits that one can enjoy within a specified time frame. Also, there is no limit on how much time has to elapse before you are allowed to use visa free transit again. So, you are perfectly eligible for 144 hours visa free transit in Shanghai twice. You should just take care that your flights to and from Shanghai don't have any additional landing(s) within mainland China.
