About:Chinese Embassy in Canada

ten year L visa eligibility

Hello

I am a Canadian citizen. For the past ten years i have traveled extensively to and from China. Originally i traveled for business purposes. Now I am retired. However i have many friends and acquaintances in PRC and since my retirement have spent a great deal of time there. I maintain an apartment in Beijing where i stay when I am in PRC.

Currently I have a twelve month multi entrance L type with ninety day stays.

First, am I eligible to obtain an extended entry permit up to ten years with six month stays>?

Second, what documentation is required?

Desmond, you can apply for a ten-year multiple entry L type for China and it's very likely that you can get it. The required documents are almost the same as you apply for the previous L types, including your passport, a copy of your passport and previous entry permits to PRC, a completed application form attached with your color bare-headed photo, and an invitation letter from your friend. The difference is that your passport should be valid for at least ten years and the validity of the entry permit you can get is depending on your passport's remaining validity.
