About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Shanghai > Guangzhou (transit) > Myanmar

Hi, I hold a Dutch passport and I'll be in Shanghai for 3 full days. I arrive on the 14th at 6:25am and leave on the 17th at 8:45am. On the 17th I'm flying to Myanmar but I have a stop in Guangzhou airport. According to the 144 hours policy, you cannot transit in other Chinese airports from/to airports where you can apply for the visa on entry. However, this transit is part of my leg and it's how I booked it with the airline. There's no other way for me to go to Myanmar. Do you think I can still apply for the 144 hours policy? Thanks!

Lindsy, according to what you mentioned above, I’m afraid you cannot get the 144 hour free transit. You need to apply for a transit G type or tourist L type before your trip.
