how to get from guangzhou station to international airport

Question

We are planning on catching the train from Guilin to Guangzhou but need to transfer to the International Airport for a 5pm international departure (on the 30th Sep, SO EVERYTHING MAY BE BUSY!). What time should we depart Guilin, which station should we plan to get off at and what is the best way to transfer to the airport? Thanks.

For the international flight, I think it maybe better to get there around 2.5 or 3 hours in advance. If you stop at GZ South station, it would be around 90min by metros to the airport and if during holidays longer waiting time etc may needed. So personally speaking, I think it may be better to arrive at the GZ around 12:00 in the noon.
